NAB launches new NAB Reward Program with 3 new Reward Credit Cards

27 January 2017

NAB Rewards Program

With the launch of the new NAB Rewards Program new NAB reward cardholders will benefit from much improved flexibility with which they can use their rewards. Previously NAB reward credit cardholders had the choice of earning Qantas Points, Velocity Points or flybuy points.  The new NAB rewards Program changes this single Points approach by allowing cardholders to earn NAB Rewards which in turn can then be redeemed with airline partners including Virgin Australia, Cathay Pacific and Air New Zealand as well as flights and travel deals through Webjet, gift cards for your favourite retailers and cash direct to your NAB account.

The NAB Rewards Program has been launched with 3 new NAB Reward Credit Cards, the NAB Rewards Classic Card, NAB Rewards Platinum Card and NAB Rewards Business Platinum Card all are Visa credit cards. This is a change to the current NAB reward cards that are all dual Visa and American Express cards. Unfortunately, this change means you won’t be able to take advantage of a higher earn rate when using an AMEX card as you can with NAB’s frequent flyer cards

Each of the new cards earn NAB Rewards Points which can be manually converted into frequent flyer points at the following rates, with a minimum transfer amount of 3,000 NAB Rewards points at a time:

  • 3 NAB Rewards points = 1.5 Virgin Australia Velocity points
  • 3 NAB Rewards points = 1.0 Cathay Pacific Asia Miles
  • 3 NAB Rewards points = $0.015 Air New Zealand Airpoints Dollars

NAB Reward Cardholders will also have the option to convert their points to

There’s no cap on the number of points that can be earned or converted, although payments to the Australian Taxation Office earn no reward points

Earn rates for the 3 new cards.

Higher point rates are available with NAB Reward partners for example you can earn triple points when booking through Webjet or when making foreign transactions online or overseas. You’ll also earn double points on purchases made in major department and hardware stores such as JB Hi-Fi, Kmart, Country Road, Myer, David Jones, Mitre 10 and Bunnings.

Introductory Offers available on the 3 new cards

Each of the new cards features a introductory bonus points offer.
