Apple Pay is Secure and Private

  • The card reader (EFTPOS machine) never sees your debit or credit card number.
  • When you use Apple Pay, your card number is never shared with the merchant or saved on your device
  • No need to hand over your card at the checkout so your card details remain private.
  • No need to open the application or even unlock your iPhone, as Apple Pay is always running and is activated by a signal from the EFTPOS terminal.
  • Because your fingerprint is more secure than a PIN the $100 tap-and-go limit does not apply for Apple Pay.
